First of all we will start of with the country: and that is Zambia! For those who don't know where that is, it is on the continent of Africa.
The Capital of Zambia is Lusaka. So that is where you will fly into.
There is only one way to get to the village of Kazembe, and that is either by car or bus. So since Kazembe is 1000 kilometers from Lusaka, you should take the bus. To get to the bus terminal just ask for the "Inter-city bus terminal" any taxi driver should know where it is.
I would suggest that you go one to two days in advance to reserve your bus ticket as it becomes full the day of departure.
So once you are there, you will have a few different bus lines to take. They are all the same price so it is up to you. Note that this place is full of wild loafers who "try" to help you to your destination. Keep your luggage close to you and stay on your course to the bus you want. Trust no one!
The bus ride will cost about 180 Kwacha. This is for one way.
The total time will be from 12 to 15 hours. It all depends on how many stops they make at every village to pick up passengers and pot holes.
Now they do stop a few times during the trip, but just for 10 minutes. But take note that every driver is different and some stop only a few times and that could be on the side of the road and you will have to jump in a bush.
First--Kabwe, Second -- Kapiri Mposhi, Third -- Serenge, Fourth -- Mansa, Fifth -- Kazembe
Toilets are available for a small fee of 1 kwacha, please bring your own toilet pape and alcohol swabs.
During the stops you can get french fries (Chips) and chicken. Maybe a sausage or meat pie where available.
You should arrive in Kazembe by 7am.
The bus will drop you in a small village that has one main dirt street with small shops on either side.
